Joshua Hutchins, B.S., CSCS

Joshua Hutchins has followed an interesting path to his goal of making a career in the fitness industry. He started his higher education at UNC-Pembroke where he received a full scholarship to play baseball—a career cut short by a shoulder injury. This event actually planted the seeds for his path later in life. After transferring and later graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, Josh went to work at the Carnivore Preservation Trust (CPT) in Pittsboro, NC where he eventually served as Head Animal Keeper and supervised the care of over 250 large carnivores.

After Josh left CPT he immersed himself in his true passion, the study and instruction of fitness and human physiology. His first step to becoming a certified personal trainer was acquiring his certification through the American Council on Exercise and moving to Boca Raton, Florida. There, Josh began studying at the Fitness Institute while he built and developed his personal training client base at the same time. Working at a high volume health club in the fast-paced lifestyle of South Florida, Josh gained enormous experience by working with a wide range of clients with varying needs and fitness levels.

Since being back in Raleigh, Josh has earned one of the most respected certifications in the physical fitness industry, becoming a “Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.” He also established Core Results, Inc. He has dedicated himself to helping as many people as he can lead a healthier lifestyle while building a team of personal trainers that are some of the most qualified fitness professionals in the Triangle.

Josh is married to Dr. Rae Hutchins who is the medical director at the Veterinary Specialty Hospitals. Together they have two boys – Nathan and Bryson.

Two words: Josh Rocks! If you want a trainer that is as diverse as he is non-intimidating, Josh is the one for you. I interviewed a few different trainers before settling on Josh. He was the only one that didn’t make me feel inadequate or like a piece of meat. Very friendly disposition, very knowledgeable about his stuff. ...I have lost about 20 pounds in 3 months (4 weeks of which I was sick and injured). I’ve got from a tight size 18 to a loose size 14, and for once, I don’t think, I *know* I am going to meet and surpass my goal.

Josh is an experienced, knowledgeable trainer, and an all-around awesome person! He mixes professional etiquette with an uncanny sense of humor, making each workout session interesting and fun. I can’t remember the last time I actually loved working out… When I coached high school volleyball, Josh designed an awesome high intensity/low impact workout for my girls. He even came to our gym and demonstrated each exercise, while motivating my team to get in the best shape of their lives! As a result, we had more stamina and flexibillity than we ever had before, outshined every other team in the conference, and made it to the state playoffs.
