Our Personal Trainers

Kayla Laird, M.A., CPT, ATC

It’s not often that a resume speaks for itself, but Kayla Laird’s does. She has a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training and a Masters in Exercise Physiology from UNC and is both a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Athletic Trainer!

Kayla is originally from Michigan but in search of warmer weather she decided Florida was the perfect choice for undergrad. While attending Palm Beach Atlantic University she realized athletic training was not the right career path but loved that it emphasized safety in exercise, learning compensatory patterns, and provided an in depth understanding of the musculoskeletal system that few curriculums can. This degree lay the foundation for her postgraduate work in Exercise Physiology which adds the dynamic of how the body responds to exercise. When you put those two degrees together you get a complete understanding of the human body and exercise which is exactly what you are looking for in a personal trainer.

Kayla now resides in Apex with her husband Stephen and Most recently serves as an exercise physiologist at the Duke Center for Living at Fearrington where she is an instructor in both group and individual settings.
