What to Expect with Personal Training

If you’ve never worked with a personal trainer before, you might not know what to expect, or even feel intimidated by the very idea of working directly with an expert. But working with a personal trainer should be anything but intimidating. At Core Results, we have designed a private studio space and working environment that fosters positive, supportive relationships between each trainer and their clients.

Because we work exclusively within the trainer/client pairing system, you’ll always have someone to guide you and ensure that you are training safely. Every one of our clients comes to our studios to work with their own trainer on their own journey in a respectful setting.

The First Step is to Reach Out to Us

In most cases, the owner, Aaron Hornstra, will respond within hours to walk you through the registration process.

During your initial conversation with Aaron you will talk about your goals, interests, requests, and scheduling needs. Based on these factors he will match you up with a personal trainer.

You can also ask questions about the trainer that has been recommended or about what to expect in your personal training journey. In fact, it’s encouraged! We want you to be comfortable with your trainer so that you can work together effectively.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session is totally free and lasts about an hour. You’ll sit down with the trainer that you will be working with and dig into the details that your trainer will use to develop your personal training program.

  • Whether to train in 30 or 60 minute sessions
  • How many weekly sessions to schedule
  • When those sessions should take place
  • Whether to train toward a specific goal, or something more open-ended
  • Your fitness history
  • Any past injuries you have
  • How personal training will work into your specific lifestyle

After that, you will head out into the studio and do an actual workout. You’ll be amazed at how even this first sample workout will already be tailored to you. Our personal trainers are well-versed in designing programs to fit everyone.

Investing Time in Your Program

To get the most out of your personal training program, consistency is key. We recommend coming in at least twice a week.

How long you spend on your program is entirely up to you. If you have a very specific or short-term goal, or just need an introduction on what to expect for a more long-term journey, you may only come in for a few months of training. However, many of our clients have been coming in regularly for over ten years because they believe in the value of lifelong guidance through always-changing obstacles and goals.

Personal Training Fees

Determining what to expect for the price of your program includes factoring in how long your sessions will be and how often they will occur. If price is a concern for you, decide on what will fit within your weekly budget for your personal trainer to plan with.
